But as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Romans 8:14
Yesterday, before I went to the gym, I asked the Lord for any insight or direction/description of anyone I should talk to. I felt like He said there was gonna be a guy at the gym with a red shirt that I should talk to as well as a guy on the way to the gym, but that I would have to go looking for him. Ok. So I’m driving and as I’m about to make a right turn to head towards the gym, I here “left.” Are you sure Lord? Alright I’m turning around. I felt like He said to keep driving up this road, but that I wasn’t gonna go past a certain point. So I kept driving and asking God where to turn. Eventually I drove past a community and felt like the Lord was saying to turn in there. So I turn around…again…and go back into this community. I drove all the way to the back and didn’t see anyone outside. I felt like God had said that I would see the guy from outside. So I turned around yet again and went down the only other road in this community. I drove down the road and saw I guy walking around his yard. I went down to the culdasac and…turned around, came back up, and parked. At which time, I realized he was chasing his escaped dog, which started chasing my car. So I got out and started talking with him. I found out he goes to a well-known church nearby, so he didn’t think I was crazy when I told him why I was there. I told him what I’ve been doing in gainesville. Then I mentioned that I was heading to the gym. He asked what gym I went to and I told. He said he was interested in maybe being a part of it and training together sometimes. We exchanged phone numbers and I left. As I drove away, I kinda felt like God was saying that I was gonna disciple him. And later on that day when I was telling a friend this story, she said she got the same word. So we’ll see where God takes this. I don’t know if he’ll decide to come to the gym. But I’m gonna stay in contact with him and follow the Lord’s lead.
Later on that night, God had a divine appointment for me driving back from Atlanta. I stopped to get gas at a Shell because my grandma had given me a giftcard. There was a man there who’s tank was on E as well and said he was hard up for money. I told him to pull around to a pump. Thankfully, it was a pretty big giftcard so both of us got about 3/4 of a tank out of the card, but before he left, I offered to pray for him and he opened up to struggling with unforgiveness and feeling like he can’t go to God with what he’s going through. So I was able to just remind him how much the Father loves him and pray over him before we left. God is on the move!
